Hello!

Welcome to The Beach Studio, where art is all about having fun, letting go, and going with the flow!

Our guided art sessions take you step-by-step through creating your own unique masterpiece whilst learning new painting techniques along the way. You’ll leave not only with a work of art to keep, but with new creative skills to build on.

All sessions are relaxed and casual, with no lock-in term bookings. Come along, paint, and enjoy the experience (and perhaps come again, if you feel like it)!

About me

Hi, I’m Julia! 😊👋

I started The Beach Studio in 2017 because I love art, working with children, and the beach!

Before launching The Beach Studio, I gained experience assisting in children’s art programs at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Adelaide Festival, and the Zhu-Lin Buddhist Temple kids’ art program. These experiences deepened my passion for helping others discover their creative freedom through art.

I love exploring people’s artistic potential whilst teaching valuable technical skills. I believe creativity should always be nourished and encouraged. My mantra is, there’s no right or wrong in art, just an imagination and unique style waiting to be set free, explored, and appreciated.

As a child, I studied at the Ruth Tuck Art School, later earning a Bachelor of Graphic Design from the University of South Australia, and refreshed my drawing skills at the New York Studio School. When I’m not teaching, I work in graphic design and marketing, another way I get to blend creativity with communication every day!

Every year, I also run a Kids’ Art Exhibition, giving our young artists the chance to showcase their work over a few months. The exhibition includes a launch party and even the opportunity to sell their artwork, just like in a real gallery!

I hold a current police check and Working With Children certificate.
